Government is actualizing projects aimed at bettering the lives of Zambians through the provision of clean and safe water for all, Minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection, Raphael Nakacinda says.
Mr. Nakacinda says government under the leadership of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is committed to providing clean and safe water without leaving anyone behind as espoused in the Seventh National Development Plan.
He notes that the provision of critical necessities such as water and good sanitation add dignity to human life.
During the commissioning of a water project in Lusaka’s George Compound this morning, Mr. Nakacinda said Government through his Ministry is working tirelessly to see that all citizens are not denied their Right to access water.
The US$150, 000 water project will have over 40, 000 beneficiaries in George, Chunga, Matero and surrounding areas.
The project has been done with the support of Zambian Breweries.
And Mr. Nakacinda has cautioned against vandalism as the project will be servicing many communities and clean water and sanitation is a prerequisite to a healthy life.
Meanwhile, Zambia Breweries Representative Ezeil Sekeli has pledged his company’s continued corporate social responsibility.
