The Chieftianess said this in Kaumbwe, when Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection Minister, Jonas Chanda called on her at her palace to explain Government’s agenda in the water and sanitation sector in her Chiefdom.
The Traditional Leader explained that the creation of the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection by President Lungu has brought about human development as both water and sanitation are critical services for national development.
She has commended President Lungu for sending Dr. Chanda to appreciate challenges the people of Kaumbwe are faced with in Water supply and Sanitation in this border area.
She has also called for unity ahead of the 2021 General Elections and urged all her subjects to register as voters.
Meanwhile, Dr. Chanda says President Edgar Lungu is a President for all Zambians and is committed to uplifting the welfare of all Traditional Leaders and their people by empowering them with various developmental projects.
Dr. Chanda also informed the Chieftainess that he has Instructed Eastern Water Supply and Sanitation Company to immediately start the process of incorporating and extending services to the remaining seven (7) districts in the province not yet being serviced by the water utility company.

The Minister has since assured the Chieftainess and her people that President Edgar Lungu will transform the area and the entire eastern province through provision of clean and safe water and sanitation services, as well as increasing water storage capacity through dams.
The districts in Eastern Province not yet being serviced by Eastern Water Supply and Sanitation Company are Kasenengwa, Lusangazi, Chipangali, Chasefu, Lumezi, Vubwi and Sinda.
And Kaumbwe member of parliament Listed Tembo says over 70 boreholes have been drilled in the constituency since 2016 but added that the area still need additional boreholes and dams.
